Welcome to
Skål International Malta
Skål has been part of the country’s tourism scene for more than 20 years. The first
club, the Skål Club of Valletta, was founded in 1982 under the presidency of
Norman Mifsud.
In the early 1990s the club changed name and became the Skål Club of Malta
with
Victor Mercieca as
president. At the time there were no more than 24 members.
Over the years the restyled Skål International - Malta has grown and now has more
than 60 members.
In
the past decade the club has had five presidents - Victor Mercieca, John Lowell,
Anthony Gatt, Joseph Borg Olivier and Frans Camilleri.
Following
the 61st Skål International World Congress, held in Malta, Anthony Gatt
was elected president
of the Mediterranean Area Committee whilst Joseph Borg
Olivier was voted
Internal Auditor.
At
the conclusion of the 62nd Skål International World Congress, held in
Puerto Rico
in October 2001, both
Anthony Gatt and Joseph Borg Olivier were re-elected as
president of the Mediterranean Area Committee and Internal Auditor respectively.
